Whistler - Our Calendars are in Evolution!

She Said – It had been close to 15 years since I was in Whistler and holy crap has it grown. And the construction for the Olympics is insane… but it sure will be nice when it is all done. It was a stinkin hot day and there were festivals and such all over the mountain. Our main goal was to find a retail location in Whistler for our calendar, and have a drink on a patio. Luckily we came across a kick ass chick, Jenine, with a kick ass store – Evolution. If you want one go see Jenine and her other awesome store folks. The Dirt Series also happened to be in town. I am a big fan of the Dirt Series Mountain Bike Camps. Candace and the girls have been putting on these camp for years – I have taken four camps over the last five years in Edmonton, Canmore, Fernie and Calgary. For any girl (or guy) who wants to learn to, brushen up, or have one hell of a great biking weekend you should check out the Sugoi Dirt Series Mountain Bike camps that happen all summer – most camps are women only but some are co-ed. Trust me it is a Killer Weekend for Dirt Cheap. Anyways we didn’t have much time as we were heading to Squamish to camp so we grabbed a quick meal at the Mongolie BBQ – but it wasn’t quick and it was super expensive, not like I remember from the Mongolie Grill in Vancouver – I guess Whistler prices are jacked. I thought $80 for both our meals was a bit of a rip off…. Then we were off, in less than a day we had ripped through the town and didn’t even get to brush the surface of all the activities that places has to offer. Next time we go I can assure you we will try the zip line and go downhill biking (next summer time that is)!!!

He Said – We did the big walk about tour trying to figure out the best place to sell the calendars at. We hung out at the bottom of the ski lift for a little bit. Andrea wanted to track down the dirt series girls and see if it was the same girls running it when she did it and give them some calendars. We found them and had a drink on them – thanks ladies – ride it up! We got some good leads on places to do the calendars so we were running back and forth trying to catch the owners / right contact person. And then…. We finally did. Jenine at Evolution – a bike shop in the summer and snowboard shop in the winter. A lot of Whistler had gone corporate but this store was definitely local and Jenine is a right down rooted girl – super cool and willing to give us a hand. After that was taken care of we figured it was time for a celebration so we booked ourselves a white water rafting trip for the next day and had a dinner on the run at Mongolie Grill.
