Mike's Rendition - He Said

All right, before I start on Day 2, we had a unique encounter with this dude who has a pet raccoon named Ricky. There was a bunch of kids running around all excited he was there and they were throwing fish up at him. The thing was just sitting there mowing.

Day Two - KTown

OK back on track – Day 2 – got up for my morning slash and I shit myself a little bit. But its OK, its dealable. Tore down the tent and headed off to K-Town. Eating cold pizza for breakfast, I just wanted to get somewhere andgo for a swim. With the fires and stuff we could see the smoke hanging over the lack. It was pretty crazy but we found out the roads just opened up so we would be in the all clear. With all the road construction it slowed us down but once we got into town we parked and went for a tour. We found a little spot on the beach to chill for a little bit and take a dip in the water to relieve my body of the greasiness I had accumulated. We both got on the horn trying to get a hold of people we knew living in Kelowna to see how our evening would turn. I ended up getting a hold of Eric, because I knew he was the GM of the Keg in Kelowna and he was able to give me Jack and Adam’s numbers. So we cruised up to Jack’s place, which Adam and Eric also live in, and we confirmed it would be a nice little place to set up the tent in the backyard. And low and behold Jack showed up and his buddy Rob was taking the boat out and had a couple extra spots. So sweet, we got to pick up some beers and spend a couple hours on the water just chilling. We got to trying a little wake skating. It was pretty cool, I’m pretty much a natural, it came to me pretty good. And uh… that finished with you know, some showers, some more cleansing, and uh Andrea was able to get a hold of some of her girlfriends and I got a hold of a neighbour I hadn’t seen in 17 years and we all met for some bevies at Eldorado’s – highly recommended, very cool, patio overlooking the water. So we had some eats, a little bullshits session, and some catch-up, it was a good way to end the evening. I promised Bryan, I won’t wait another 17 years to see him again. I will work better at staying in touch, crazy, freakin crazy.

Sippy Sippy – Day Three

Alright back to the wine tours, I just had a mental lapse there, but thanks for bearing with me. En route to Penticton we hit up the SilkScarf so Andrea could keep her buzz on (ok wait..Andrea here, I am typing for Mike as he drives, and I just want to say that not ALL of his words are factual…please keep this in mind as you read that likely stuff about me will not be true, unless its good… ok I cant say anymore since this is the HE SAID rendition and I better BUTT out). I’d like to just erase those last few sentences from your mine, sorry for anybody’s time, I apologize. So we were going to stay in Kelowna for one more night, but Andrea wanted to get her drink on at some of the local wineries on the other side of the lake. So we went and hit up a couple different ones in Kelowna and you know, developed a little culture trying several types of wine and no spitting. And uh we decided to turn the class up even higher by ordering some cheeses to go with our wine, the wine tour place.

Oh and I forgot again, about the picture I took – we got a naked pic in front of the Ogopogo monster, he was after my bait. Oh ya, my memory because of the wine I keep drinking…. I keep forgetting stuff. We were just minding our own business walking down the street and walked by the studio for CBC in Kelowna. So why not go give them a calendar, it will break up their day from talking about forest fires and burning, lots of burning going on. So we did, and they invited us to do a quick little interview with Mike D, Mike D behind the microphone, like Mike D from the Beastie Boys, check check, one two. So that went well and it was fun.

Penticton – we hit that and Adog had heard about some little float down the canal inbetween the two lakes, so we checked it out and jumped on board. Grab some tubes and went for a nice little float float. I wish I was feeling like Crocodile Dundee, there were so many fish there, I would have liked to have caught some with my bare hands, get em in the gills, I think, if that’s what ya gotta do. (Mike makes sick noise). Float turned to dinner and we were told to go to Salty’s – kind of a pirate dude who travelled a lot through the Caribbean type of feel. I had a Jimmy Buffet drink and a Red Stripe so I know I was in good hands. We also made an executive decision to start carrying around the cutout of me naked, around with us to certain restaurants and little walks we go on, to entice people. We needed a picture in Penticton. We found out when people think of Penticton, they apparently think of this Giant Peach. So we found the peach and got a nice little naked picture with it. I don’t even think people noticed, I felt vulnerable.

We needed to find the next place to call camp so we drove for about another hour (ok Andrea here again, I cant help myself because we drove for five minutes….but anyways….) and found a nice little clean campsite right off the highway so we could really make sure we listened to vehicles as they drove by all night. I think this is enough out of me…so we went for a late night dip in the water which took forever to find, all in all a good night. Then I had to listen to Andrea snore, but at least she kept the bears away because she kept letting off her horn.

Day Four

A couple more winery stops. Blasted Church was pretty cool. We were told by Robyn, a biathlon coach who helped us out with the biathlon picture, about this neat little winery we had to check out called Blasted Church. Apparently we have a similar kind of gimmick – people like to take pictures of their bottles of wines in places all over the world and I like to take pictures of myself naked all over the world. Does that make me conceded? I don’t know.

Now we are just heading towards Chilliwack, driving through a bunch of cool towns in Southern BC and finally getting some rain that is well deserved in this place. Its perfect weather to drive in because I am not sitting here sweating, I don’t even have back sweat… that’s key, that’s key.

That’s it man, nothing else….we’ll get back to you later.
